I did the pool refresh because it’s been a while since I dove (15 years!) and Fabian was very good and safe. Also if you like scuba diving the 4 dive package is a great deal (even if you don’t do all 4, a single dive is $112.50 vs $150 for 4). The drinks are very good and so is breakfast. The party pools were much too hot but the quiet pool was a good temperature. Book an oceanfront room if you want privacy and to use your tub. Only other complaint is the sheets could have been higher quality but they were fine. He was the best! I also enjoyed the spin classes and floating yoga, Mon was an incredible instructor, super clear and motivating. We loved the quiet pool and Jose Galvez provided super attentive, proactive service. They put on polish a little thick and it didn’t last, but they did fix it for me at no charge a few days later.

I did mani/pedi too and upgraded the pedicure for $25 which was worth it. Over 2 hours! I also enjoyed the salon, Ruby gave me an excellent haircut and you can’t beat the inclusive prices. I had the 100% natural, which was a body scrub, body mask, facial and then massage. The spa was the absolute best, 4 hands massage my husband loved so much he booked it again. We aren’t “all inclusive” fans, but we loved Unico. One more thing I’d like to add is that we were surprised to find there were sea turtles hatching very close by! We didn’t see for ourselves but you can walk by, either to the resort South of the hotel or just north of where Unico’s beach chairs end to find areas where the baby sea turtles hatch. I’d also like to note that the seaweed is an issue all across the Cancun/Riviera Maya area, but the resort puts forth great effort to keep their beach as clean as possible. Also perhaps a few more indoor activities for those who want to escape the midday heat. I’d like a more casual buffet option for dinner on days we don’t feel like dressing up or maybe had an exhausting excursion. And kept your eyes out for iguanas! There are many of them, but they won’t bother you! If I had to state a few cons, it would mostly be due to personal preference. There’s always someone manicuring the gardens and lawn, and other employees keeping the resort very clean. The resort overall is kept in impeccable condition. At this resort, you can choose a relaxing vacation, or have fun in the pool playing poker or volleyball. The employee who taught the salsa lessons was hilarious and entertaining! We enjoyed some of the activities provided at the resort but mostly we enjoyed lounging around at the pool, beach or spa tub on the balcony (another favorite of ours). The waiters and bartenders were attentive and friendly. The employees here are top notch! From our host, to the waiters, bartenders and housekeeping, they all did a great job at making our trip unforgettable. They also have a brick oven for pizzas.yum! All of the restaurants were great but our favorite was Mura House. There is no skimping in quality of food at Unico! Plus, you can expect the same quality (and presentation) for pool side dining as well as room service. One of our favorite things about the resort is the food. Our host, Rodrigo, was very kind and took care of anything we needed, such as dinner reservations or getting us in contact with the excursion planner. We met our host and then we were escorted to our room by an employee who gave us a helpful tour of our room. We were greeted with welcome drinks and were offered different scents to choose for our room during our stay. My husband I just returned from our stay at Unico and it exceeded our expectations.
